One of the original exponents of the true “Miami Sound” was Orquesta Suprema, a well-oiled twelve-piece salsa orchestra that were extremely popular in the early to mid - 1970s in the Miami area, catering to the huge influx of Cuban emigres. Their brand of salsa mixed with explosive Afro-Cuban rhythms was contagious, and when Suprema played a dance, they drew thousands of people with little or no advertising. Their ultra-rare albums are now highly prized by Cuban music enthusiasts. The landmark album “La Suprema,” recorded in 1973, is presented here newly remastered and pressed on limited edition color vinyl for your listening pleasure.
